The Great Mouse Detective is a 1986 animated film produced by Disney. It is the 26th film by Disney, directed by Burny Mattison, David Michener, along with the team of John Musker and Ron Clements, who directed The Little Mermaid (1989) and Aladdin (1992). The film is also known as The Adventures of the Great Mouse Detective for its re-release in 1992 and Basil the Great Mouse Detective in some countries. The main cast of the film are all mice living in the city of London, England. The film premiered on July 2, 1986. In a world where mice live among humans, the Great Mouse Detective Basil of Baker Street is on a mission to solve a case that threatens the safety of all mousekind. With the help of his trusty companion Dr. Dawson, they must outwit the villainous Ratigan and save the day.
