The Purge is set in a futuristic world in the year 2022, where the United States has become a "reborn nation" with crime and unemployment rates at an all-time low. To maintain this stability, the government conducts an annual event called the "Purge," where individuals are allowed to release their negative emotions freely for 12 hours. During this time, all criminal behavior, including murder, is exempt from prosecution. However, tragedy strikes when a family becomes hostage and a horrifying tale unfolds.
